The Stream

Based on a true story from the war in Bosnia, a mother is forced to drown an elderly relative (as an act of mercy) in order to save her children from certain doom.

THE STREAM is part of a trilogy of short, award-winning, political films that are connected through the theme of water. The stories are told visually with minimal use of dialogue. They are not silent films as music and other general sounds help to underline and expand the story.

Parts two and three (also available in this archive) are entitled THE LAKE (9 minutes) and THE BRIDGE (11 minutes).
